The ROGER® Name
The trademarked ROGER® name was created in 1992 and was subsequently registered. Carolina Tobacco has exclusive rights to use the ROGER® trademark. The name "ROGER®" came from a focus group in London in 1992 that believed populations in most of the world remember WWII airplane pilots who used "Roger" during radio conversations to mean "understood". Later "Roger" came to have an upbeat connotation meaning "Okay, and all is well." In 1970, in the United States, CB radio operators began to use "Roger" in the same way as WWII pilots.
